Fresh Fig, Bacon + Blue Cheese Pizza

This Grilled Pizza with Fig, Prosciutto, and Blue Cheese has a great flavor combo: the salty blue cheese and prosciutto, the sweet figs, the peppery arugula, and the smoky pizza crust. As if pizza couldn't get any better, consider that it only takes a few minutes to cook this pizza on a grill.

Sprinkle over the blue cheese and prosciutto first. Now add the rings of red onion, snippings of rosemary and sliced figs and crushed garlic. Finally, crumble over the walnuts and drizzle over some olive oil and your seasoning. Now pop that prosciutto pizza in a hot oven for barely 12 minutes.

Top with mozzarella slices and place sliced figs in the gaps between the cheese. Sprinkle on bacon and crumbles of about half the blue cheese. Spoon on small piles of caramelized onion around the pizza and spread out a little bit. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until everything is bubbly and crust is golden brown.

In a bowl dissolve yeast in 1/5 of the water. Add 2 Tbsp of durum flour and mix it with the yeast mixture. Then cover the bowl with a cloth and place on the kitchen counter for approx. 30 min. Preheat the oven to it's maximum temperature and leave the baking stones in the oven while heating it. Remove the cloth from the bowl.

Scatter on the bacon and fig slices, sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top, and drizzle with half of the cream. Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake until the crust is golden and the cheese has browned in spots—8 to 10 minutes on the baking sheet, 6 to 8 minutes on the baking stone/steel. Crumble on the blue cheese, along with the walnuts, artichoke hearts, a drizzle of balsamic glaze and some seasoning. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry around the edges in golden and crisp. Drizzle with an oil of your choosing, scatter over some rocket and finish with a sprinkling of chilli flakes and a good stroke of parmesan if you.

Remove the stems from the figs, then cut the figs into quarters. Place in a 9-by-12-inch glass baking dish. Combine the port wine, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, rosemary, shallots and salt.

Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled pan. Spread the fig butter to create a thin layer, leaving a 1/2 " border of dough around the outside. (See notes.) Brush the exposed outer ring of dough with a favorite oil. Set the pan on the pizza stone and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the crust is set.

Put the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F/Fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7. Cut the tomatoes into chunks and put in a small saucepan with the garlic, balsamic and a little oil over a high heat.

Directions. For the dough: In a small bowl, combine the yeast with the sugar and 3/4 cup warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes until it begins to foam. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. (~400 degrees F). Arrange the bread on a lined baking sheet. Spread the cream cheese over the flatbread. Arrange the figs, then sprinkle with the rosemary, pine nuts, and blue cheese. Place the flatbread in the oven and bake for about 7 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Remove from the oven and let stand for.

Pizza: 4. Preheat oven to 475 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 5. Stretch your pizza dough to the desired size. (If you are using the NY Times recipe I included above, this will make two doughs), Add caramelized onion and 2 tsp of oil and spread around as your base. Top with the Italian blend.

About 1 hour before baking, heat the oven to 500°F with a baking steel or stone on the upper-middle rack. In a small bowl, stir together the fig jam, oil and ½ teaspoon pepper; set aside.
