Lane Southern Orchards. For more than 100 years, in the heart of middle Georgia, Lane Southern Orchards has been growing peaches and pecans. Located just outside of Ft. Valley, the farm that now totals almost 5,000 acres was started in 1908 by John David Duke. The farm, originally known as Diamond Fruit Farm, shipped peaches in wooden baskets.
